We’re Josh and Raph, a Anglo-French couple, newly married, in love with food, and barbecuing.
The idea for our business was born out of our wedding in the South of France. We were dead set on the idea of having an outdoor BBQ for our 170 guests in the beautiful location and weather. However, after months of research, we couldn’t find anyone who could deliver the massive BBQ experience we were dreaming of. So, Josh decided to build one himself... And trust us, it’s a beast!
We put together an amazing team of professional Chefs, including Maz Cogo. We safely navigated all the rules and regulations to make it happen, and proved to ourselves that it could be done.
We fired it up for our wedding, and the atmosphere was incredible. It was a real success, beyond what we had hoped for.
This set the wheels in motion for this business venture.
Raph and Josh both come from a career in Film and Television, where making the difficult and the impossible happen is part of the job. That’s why we know that whatever you envision for your event, we can make it happen.

MEET THE TEAM

Founder
Josh Bloomer
Josh Bloomer is the founder of Bloomer & Sons BBQ. Josh has been cooking with fire for many years, and has taken the step to turn a passion into a business.
Bloomer & Sons BBQ takes its name from Noah Bloomer & Sons LTD, a family business founded in 1849, forging chain and anchors for the British shipping industry in The Black Country, West Mids.
Josh learnt to weld and work with metal from his father, who currently runs Noah Bloomer & Sons LTD.
Using his experience in the camera department in the film industry, Josh's draws on years of technical and logistical experience to run the team on the ground.

Chef
Maz Cogo
Born in Brazil, Maz grew up cooking with fire. Until recently, Maz was the head chef at The Union, in Rye.
She has now started out on her own with an events business, as well as being a wine purchaser/advisor.
Maz regularly teams up with us at Bloomer & Sons BBQ for events.

Chef
Massimo Lombardi
Massimo grew up in Boksburg, South Africa. Braai and BBQ are in his blood! When moving to the UK, Massimo worked in several professional kitchens. Over the years, moving from Chef de partie to Head Chef.
Josh met Massimo while working at the same pub many years ago.
Massimo has joined the film industry in the recent years as a Special Effects Technician, and joins Bloomer and Sons BBQ for events.

Co-Founder
Raph Carrillo
Raph Carrillo, co-founder of Bloomer & Sons BBQ, works alongside her husband Josh to bring their BBQ vision to life.
Originally from France, Raph grew up understanding the importance of Food, and what it represents. For her, it's about simplicity, sharing, and connecting with one another.
With a background in TV production and editing, she thrives at managing, logistics, scheduling, marketing and executing events.

Chef
Rico Bam
Rico grew up farming and hunting with his family in Namibia. Butchering, preserving and cooking his own meat, Rico brings a wealth of knowledge to Bloomer & Sons BBQ.
Rico met Josh working as a camera technician in the UK film industry, and quickly discovered a mutual love for BBQ (sorry...Braai!).
Rico's work ethic is second-to-none, he never stops!
